Class 4C

Welcome to 4C!

We enjoyed a wonderful first term in 4C which allowed us to take part in a Hands on History day exploring the Anglo-Saxons, design and make our own juggling ball, experiment with different conductors in electrical circuits, visit the Pantomime on the annual trip and take part in all of the Christmas traditions at The Batt (including some of us dressing up as elves for the Christmas Fayre!).

This term looks set to be just as exciting, we have all of these brilliant experiences to look forward to:

After being taught violin and cello by Mr Bettle since September, we will perform in a concert to our parents in February.

Our Topic for the term is the Ancient Egyptians and we are lucky to be having another Hands on History morning! We will develop our enquiry skills by looking at ancient artefacts and, in a more hands-on manner, we will be mummifying a tomato!

In science we will be learning about how sound travels and is measured. We believe science is best learnt practically so we look forward to testing this through lots of fun (and loud!) experiments. We will then go on to learn about digestion.

In Art we have already begun to study The Body. We are focussing on work by Julian Opie and will be replicating his style of art ourselves. Later in the term, in Design Technology, we will be designing and creating our own kites!

As well as all the listed experiences this term will see us swimming in P.E, exploring fairy tales, continuing to develop our maths skills, reading both as a class and individually and developing our STEAM skills.

If you have any questions, queries or would just like to have a look around the classroom or in your child’s books, do not hesitate to come in and talk to us, our door is always open!
