Welcome to 4C!
We enjoyed a wonderful first two weeks in 4C and everyone has settled in very well!
We have lots of exciting opportunities in Year 4 and one of these is getting to fine tune our musical skills learning Violin and Cello as a part of the First Access program which began on our second week back. We will be learning the instruments all the way up to February half-term when you will be invited to our concert to come and see what we have learnt!
In our topic this term we will be learning all about the lives and events of the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. In Design and Technology we will be designing, making and evaluating our own juggling balls, which will involve learning skills like tie-dying and sewing!
In science we are currently investigating electricity, which involves lots of testing out circuits! In 4C we believe science is best learnt practically so we look forward to taking part in lots of fun experiments.
As well as all of the listed experiences this term will see us improving our football skills in P.E, exploring stories, instruction texts and image poetry in English, continuing to develop our maths skills, reading both as a class and individually and improving our French speaking skills!
I have just set up our Homeroom page and a letter should be coming home. We will be posting some of what we have been learning and doing on the ‘Homeroom’ site, please be sure to take a look to see what we have been up to! If you are not on the App yet and would like to be please come and speak to me and I will get it up and running.
For a more in-depth view of what we will be learning this term please refer to our curriculum map which has been sent home and is also on our website under ‘Curriculum’.
If you have any questions, queries or would just like to have a look around the classroom or in your child’s books, do not hesitate to come in and talk to us, our door is always open!
