Netball County Final April 2019

On Wednesday morning our Netball team set off to play at St Helen and St Katharine School having previously qualified from the West Oxfordshire round.

Playing the event in a round robin format meant The Batt would have to play against the top eight schools from within the county. They started the campaign against a very tall Stanford in the Vale team who quickly scored two goals, however The Batt started to use their pace along with the bounce pass and with Katie on the score sheet, edged the game 3-2. They then defeated St Joseph’s again by just one goal, winning 2-1 but had their first defeat inflicted by Edward Field with the same score line. The Batt then, dominated with both Will and Immie scoring a brace each to beat St John’s 4-1, then went on to win 2-0 against Fir Tree.

The Batt then had their rest break, however that did interrupt their rhythm as they then went on to lose against old foes, West Witney and Caldecott before drawing against Windmill to end the competition in 5th place overall.

Congratulations to all the players as the first Batt team for a few years to reach the County Final Netball stage.
