Netball League 10th Feb

On a freezing cold afternoon after most of the children had gone home to enjoy their half term holiday The Batt School netball league team faced off against one off their neighbouring schools, Queen Emmas.

With snow coming down from the sky but fortunately not settling on the netball pitch The Batt settled down into an early rhythm of quick passing and movement and with some adept shooting from David and Rosie, raced into an early 6-0 lead.

Queen Emmas finally managed to get a foot hold into their game through some great defensive work to slow the scoring rate but rarely managed to penetrate the Batt team’s solid defence either. At half time the Batt had a more than comfortable 12-1 lead.

Queen Emmas, starting the second half, quickly realised they could not achieve decent possession by trying to pass over The Batt team’s tall and spring like players so adopted a ploy of using the bounce pass to some degree of success, however with ever quickening link up play The Batt continued to add to their tally of goals to run out convincing 20-4 winners to make it two wins out of two in the league so far.

Congratulations to all involved!
