Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Spending

Pupil Premium is funding allocated to schools by the government to support the education of children from lower income families who are known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), or have been eligible over the last six years. The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) also includes money for adopted children and those who have a parent in the armed services. Our PPG for this year (17/18) is £51,480, with extra funding for adopted children £1,900 plus funding for parents in the armed forces £1,500 totalling £54,880.

Our aim is to narrow the gap in attainment and educational opportunity between those children attracting Pupil Premium and those from higher income families. Each year we spend a large majority of the Pupil Premium Grant on employing Teaching Assistants. We also use the money to support children and families in experiencing extra-curricular activities and organisations outside school hours, subsidising trips and resources.

Please see our Pupil Premium Strategy Statement below for more information on how we have spent our PPG money for 2015/16 and our plans for 2016/17.
