Year 6 to Steam Museum

Year 6 WW2 visit to STEAM

As part of their topic work on Britain during the second world war, our year 6 classes visited the STEAM Museum in Swindon and were transported back to the 1940’s. The children learned what life was like for an evacuee, explored the workings of a steam engine and discussed the importance of the railways during the war. They thoroughly enjoyed playing with toys of the era (not a screen in sight) and talking to Fred, a lovely gentleman, who was at primary school during the war.
