I graduated from the University of Winchester with BA (Hons) QTS and have been teaching for 22 years. Growing up in Surrey with both parents as teachers gave me the drive and passion to become an educator myself. I started my career in the London Borough of Croydon where I worked for the first 11 years of my career. It was here that my passion for teaching literacy and specifically phonics began. As the Literacy coordinator I really enjoyed focusing on improving the teaching of reading and phonics and lead many phonics workshops to support parents in helping their children to read.
In 2012 our family was given the amazing opportunity to start a new life in Houston,Texas where we lived for 2 years. After this we moved to live in Copenhagen,Denmark where I taught at Copenhagen International school. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to teach a new curriculum and it was here that I trained in teaching a played based curriculum. Following this we moved to The Netherlands for a year where I did supply teaching at The British School of The Netherlands. Our final move took us across the globe to live in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. After the culture shock settled down we learned to love this new and exciting country and had the most wonderful opportunities to travel across Asia and Australia. I again grabbed the opportunity to teach an international school in Kuala Lumpur once again.

“I really like my school as I have lots of friends and we always have fun at playtime on the trim trail. My Teacher and TAs are kind and help me to read and spell better. I like PE especially when we play dodgeball. I like everything about my school.”
