I have had the pleasure of teaching here at The Batt School for nearly 30 years and in that time have seen many families pass through the school, now often teaching the children of those I taught many years ago, which is a real privilege.
In my time here I have taught across all four KS2 year groups and have been PE, Maths and Educational visits lead at various times. I particularly enjoy teaching maths, history, science and english, although PE is my real passion with the children. I have been very lucky over the years to take numerous groups out to a variety of sporting events, enjoying their participation and successes, including going through to county finals. I have also greatly enjoyed playing a part in working with children, supporting a number of musical events, particularly with recorder groups, and helping out with school musicals.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, walking, camping and a variety of sports.
I originally trained and worked as an Occupational Therapist, but once my own children started school I began working in schools; first as a parent helper, then as an unqualified teacher of secondary aged children, before training for my PCGE at Westminster College.
This year I have been teaching at theThe Batt School for 20 years. I did my final PGCE placement here and have been here ever since. I began at The Batt School in Year 3 and have remained in the Juniors teaching Years 3,4,5 and 6, although I would just as happily teach infants. I'm now a grandmother and am immensely enjoying looking after my granddaughter two days a week. I've been the RE lead here since I qualified. I love teaching and watching the children learn and succeed.
In my free time, I enjoy time with my family and friends, reading, going to conferences, visiting new places and dining out, walking, cycling, gardening and swimming.
